Organizer of Mumbai FC Masters League bringing more grassroots tournaments to the city

Mumbai, April 24th – A football tournament for under-8 and under-10 kids, Powai Cup Summer 2016, was organized at Hiranandani, Powai yesterday by the organizer of Mumbai FC Masters League under the banner of Young Footballers initiative. It was a one day event where 140 kids from various schools of Powai and around participated. Parents also accompanied their kids in numbers and both the kids and parents enjoyed the tournament a lot. Parents appreciated that such platform will help the young players to improve their game better and look forward for more such events.

Objective

The main aim of Young Footballers Initiative is to organize such local one-day grassroots tournaments throughout the city round the year to promote and develop grassroots football. Such tournaments will give the kids more opportunities and exposures near to their home and more frequently. As it is said “Game is the best teacher” and we believe there is truth in it. These tournaments will also help big clubs and academies to scout young players and transform them into best players.

More such tournaments are coming in other parts of the city. On 30th April similar tournament called Parel Cup Summer 2016 is being organized at Saint Paul’s High School, Parel under Young Footballers Initiative. Similar tournaments at Thane, Vasai, Chembur and Borivali are also under planning.
