FC Pune city have roped in Argentine midfielder

FC Pune City on Tuesday announced their new signing of Argentine midfielder Gustavo Oberman for the third edition of the Indian Super League (ISL).

Gustavo, who will visit India for the first time, said. “I have heard great things about the country and the football fans here. I hope to see all of that during my stint with FC Pune City and make an indelible impression on the fans, especially the Orange Army.” Gustavo who is also nicknamed Cachete, was a part of the Argentina Under-20 team that won the World Cup in 2005. Gustavo’s professional football career began at Argentino Juniors in 2003. He then went on to play for River Plat, CD Castellon, CFR Cluj, and Cordoba CF among other clubs.

Head coach Antonio Habas, who has previously guided Atletico de Kolkata to the winning podium in the inaugural edition seemed happy with the signing. He said, “Gustavo is a player who we feel is right suited to the style of football which we at FC Pune City would like to play this season, i.e. attacking brand. He has a knack of making chances from unexpected positions and I am sure that’s going to be an asset to the team.”

NUFC sign Brazilian midfielder

The Highlanders have added another South American in their foreign player quota as they signed 29-year-old Brazilian midfielder Fabio Neves Florentino . NUFC has the likes of Nicolas Velez, Mailson Alves, Emiliano Alfaro and Sasha Aneff among others who hail from the South American continent.

Fabio Neves has played for as many as ten clubs in his native Brazil during his ten year long senior career. Starting off in the academies of Villa Rio, the 29-year-old has played for the likes of Caldense and Botafogo-PB among others.
After getting less playing time over the years, the Brazilian tired his luck for South Korean club, Gwangju FC in the K-League top division where he has played around 75 games scoring 12 times.

In the meantime, the club has also announced the release of another Brazilian midfielder Manoel Amorim, who was signed a couple of months back.
