Mumbai lad Shane to train at BOCA Juniors FA, Argentina

Shane Aranha, a young talented footballer has earned the distinction of becoming the first lad from the city of Mumbai, to get an opportunity to be trained at BOCA Football Academy in Argentina

Mumbai: Shane Aranha, a young talented footballer has earned the distinction of becoming the first lad from the city of Mumbai, to get an opportunity to be trained at BOCA Football Academy in Argentina later this year. The youngsters will travel to Argentina to attend a two week training camp at CABJ (Club Athletico Boca Juniors), which produced great players, like the legendary Diego Maradona.

The 12-year-old Shane, a student of St. Mary’s High School, Mazagon, was the most promising and outstanding from among the 29 kids that were shortlisted after the inaugural edition of The Sports Gurukul organized Football Championship League (FCL) in association with Argentine club, Boca Juniors Football School, in December 2015.

He was selected by scouts from the Boca Juniors Football School India (BJFSI), which is associated with one of the premier football clubs in the world, Club Atletico Boca Junior, Argentina.

Obviously Shane was over the moon and delighted that he was picked for the training stint in Argentina. “I am very excited and looking forward to going to Argentina. It is going to be one of the best experiences in my life and I am very happy. I thank, The Sports Gurukul and BOCA Football School, for giving me this opportunity to train with them and I am certain that it would greatly help me to improve my skills and game.”

On the occasion Jay Shah, Co Founder and Director of The Sports Gurukul said, “This is the most exciting times for us. We are very proud that our mission for football has started on a good note and Shane being the first talent from Mumbai and we will be scouting for many more.”
