MDFA U-14 Youth League 2016 Round-up: Day 2

After a successful opening day of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) Under-14 Youth League, the second day kicked off in a similar fashion where further eight matches went underway at Lions Municipal Sports (Santa Cruz) and Azad Maidan, MSSA.

Here is the Round-up of 3rd November 2016:

Group C

In the opening match of Day 2, Desperados was awarded a 3-0 victory as Veniza Vihar failed to turn up for the match.

The second match between Hedgewar Boys and KSP Hydro saw an astonishing fourteen goals scored where the latter registered an incredible 12-2 victory over their counterpart  at Lions Municipal Sports Complex. Three players scored three or more goals for Hedgewar Boys, Jash Gandhi scored four with Ishaan Attra and Daniyaz Mala netted a superb hat-trick.

Khushagra Rai and Aditya Surve also got on the scoresheet for the victors. Whereas, Maneer Kholi and Kavan Vela scored for KSP Hydro. With this win, Hedgewar Boys has gone top of the Group C table.

Group D

The Group D opener saw Phoenix Sports face-off FC Mumbaikars at Lions Municipal Sports Complex. A spectacular Anurag Shetty‘s hat-trick inspired Phoenix Sports to register an easy 5-1 win against a spirited FC Mumbaikars’ side.

Atharva Jadhav and Neel Dabhole scored the other two goals for Phoenix Sports, whereas, Pratik Sachdev scored the lone goal for FC Mumbaikars.

In the second match of Group D, Mumbai Warrior registered a narrow 2-1 victory over Dadar XI in a tight contest at Lions Municipal Sports Complex. Hrishikesh scored a brace for Mumbai Warrior, whereas, Punav Jaiswal scored the only goal for Dadar XI.

Group G

In the first match of Group G at MSSA Maidan, ICL outclassed Youth Soccer Academy 5-1 after producing a brilliant attacking display against their opponent. Parth Chauhan scored a brace, whereas, Yash Sanke, Kyran Fereira and Saran Shetty scored one each for ICL.

Ayush Walmiki scored the lone goal for Youth Soccer Academy.

In the second match of Group G, Milan Football Academy produced a fantastic performance to breeze past Shashtri Nagar 5-0 in their opening game at Azad Maidan, MSSA.

Asif Khan was on fire as he registered four goals for Milan Football Academy with his lethal finishing. Ashely Amolik scored the other goal to complete a resounding victory over Shashtri Nagar.

Group H

The opening match of Group H saw Bombay Gymkhana overcoming Maurya FC 3-0 at Azad Maidan, MSSA. Rahul Almeida scored twice, whereas, Soham Dore scored the third goal to complete a fine win.

The final match of the day between Grey Athletic and Mumbai Strikers at Azad Maidan, MSSA ended as a close and tight contest as Grey Athletic triumphed 1-0, courtesy of Wasi Khan‘s solitary goal.

About MDFA Under-16 Youth League 2016 – The MDFA Under-14 Youth League 2016 is organised by the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), promoted by the Sporting Lions and the Technical Partners Mumbai City FC has been kicked-off from 2nd November onwards at Lions Municipal Sports Complex and MSSA Azad Maidan with over 40 teams participating in this extravaganza tournament.

The 40 teams have been pooled in 8 groups with the top team from each group will progress to the quarter-finals. After the completion of the Youth League, the top 4 teams from this tournament will get a chance to play at the State-level Championship which is organised by WIFA (Westen India Football Association) as a part of the State Development Program.
