MDFA U-14 Youth League 2016 Round-up: Day 4

The match day 4 of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) Youth League 2016 kicked-off at Lions Municipal Sports Complex and MSSA, Azad Maidan. Phoenix Sports in group ‘D’ and Phoenix Sports in group ‘H’ registered fascinating nine-goal victories beating Mangesh Sports Academy and Mumbai Strikers, respectively. While, in group ‘D’ Mumbai Warrior defeated FC Mumbaikar by 5-1; Hegdenar Boys and JJ Academy were handed walkover wins in group ‘C’, both team being granted a three-goal win against Veniza Virar and Desperados.

Group ‘C’

The two matches in the group: Veniza Virar vs. Hegdenar Boys and Desperados vs. JJ Academy were walkovers as Veniza Virar and Desperados failed to turn-up for their respective matches. As a result, Hegdenar Boys and JJ Academy were handed a three-goal win.

Group ‘D’

Mumbai Warriors SC registered a 5-1 victory over FC Mumbaikar as Ishaan Deb and Rishikesh Pandey’s brace helped their side overcome a tough opposition. The fifth goal from Meet Adekara added to Mumbai Warriors SC’s tally, whereas Tanish Nimbalkar’s goal for FC Mumbaikar proved to be just a consolation.

In a resounding 9-0 win, Phoenix totally dominated Mangesh Sports Academy as they continued to pressure the opposition defence from minute one till the full-time. Anurag Shetty grabbed a hat-trick, while teammates Aviraj Jagdale and Manansraj Johal scored a brace; a goal apiece from Maharishi Mech and Atharva Jadhav completed a dominant display of attacking football.

Group ‘G’

Milan Football Academy came out as favourites against Youth Soccer Academy, defeating them by three goals to zero. A brace from Asif Khan and a strike from Kabir Shaikh proved vital, as Milan FA earned maximum points in the process.

Two goals separated ICL from RCF at the full-time whistle. Kyran Ferriera and Yash Sanke’s strikes for ICL earned them a 2-0 win. ICL made it 2 wins from 2, having previously beaten Youth Soccer Academy 5-1 in their opening match.

Group ‘H’

At MSSA, Azad Maidan, Bombay Gymkhana register their version of a 9-0 win, the opposite was Mumbai Strikers. A Dexter Fernandes hat trick was accompanied by Soham Dohre’s three goals. Further adding to tally were Abhinav Dujodwala, Shivansh Khandelwal and Rahul Almeida, rounding up a good day for Bombay Gymkhana.

In the other group match, Sagar SC defeated Maurya FC thanks to two goals from Manav More, whose strikes helped his side to grab all three points.

About MDFA Under-16 Youth League 2016 – The MDFA Under-14 Youth League 2016 is organised by the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), promoted by the Sporting Lions and the Technical Partners Mumbai City FC has been kicked-off from 2nd November onwards at Lions Municipal Sports Complex and MSSA Azad Maidan with over 40 teams participating in this extravaganza tournament.

The 40 teams have been pooled in 8 groups with the top team from each group will progress to the quarter-finals. After the completion of the Youth League, the top 4 teams from this tournament will get a chance to play at the State-level Championship which is organised by WIFA (Westen India Football Association) as a part of the State Development Program.
