MDFA DIV I: Sea view vs Mumbai Port Trust Match report

Sea view down spirited Mumbai Port trust.

Sea views Agnelo Fernandes turned out to be the super sub as his deft touches and experience took the game away from Mumbai Port trust.

In a group ‘A’ encounter of MDFA 1st division Sea view clashed with Mumbai Port Trust for 3 points. Both the teams played some good football and had tough time to break each others defence. both the teams attacked in search for a goal at the same time were cautious enough not to concede. nothing could seperate both the sides as they went into the lemon break.

second period resumed as both teams looked for the opening goal. In the 47th minute Sea view FC made their first tactical change as Agnelo Fernades was introduced into the midfield. Sea view looked to gain from his experience as Agnelo moved the ball with ease leaving MPT wondering. In the 57th minute Agnelo’s low shot was parried away by goalkeeper Bhattacharya only to fall perfectly for Harshil Somaiya who made no mistake in slotting in home for a 1-0 lead. Sea view grew in confidence and made good run ins from the flank to send MPT in a tizzy. Sea View’s attacks paid of when Agnelo set up a beautiful thru ball for another substitute Varun Pillai who doubled the lead in 71st minute. MPT worked hard to get back into the game but Sea View were defensively very strong to let in any attacks as Sea view took all three points from the outing.
