MDFA DIV I : Jupiter FC vs Velankanni FC

jupiter-vs-velankanni-4

Jupiter and Velankanni boys share points.

Gaurang Chavan gave Velankanni boys a perfect start with his 5th minute goal, as Jupiter’s high line of defence was caught unawares when a lovely thru ball found Gaurang in lot of space and time. The keeper came out of his lines hoping to save the day but was brilliantly rounded by Chavan for the opener. The early lead looked like an indication that Velankanni boys might score a few more but the Jupiter defence would not allow them any. Jupiter attacked and Velankanni thwarted and vice versa was the case of the first half. Velankanni had the lead at the half time but a very slender one.

Second half and a mind set of only attacks was what Jupiter showed throughout the second half. Yamik Holkar coming close on a couple of occasions while Romit Anand had earlier missed a chance to equalise. Left back Edwin had charged up the whole left flank with his omnipresence, breaking down attacks, making darting runs from the flank supporting the wingers and bolstering the attack looked easy for Edwin. Jupiter had many of their attacking moves flying just inches away from the target. well, all the Jupiter’s attack paid off in a 75th minute free kick taken by Edwin was wonderfully placed in the box for Romit Anand who tapped it in to make it look simple for the equaliser, Only the Jupiter boys knew what kind of effort it took to get a point from the jaws of a loss.
