Haris – Danish Memorial Cup 2016 Round up

In the memory of Late Mohd. Yaqub Ansari, who in his playing days was a fine goalkeeper and two other young Madanpura players Danish and Haris, who lost their lives in a accident at very young age, a tournament was organized by Twinke Star Sports Club at YMC International Ground in Madanpura. This place has brought up many young talents and players over the years and it is touted to be the ‘Football Hub’ of Maharashtra.

Players and Coaches like Mohd. Yusuf Ansari (Goalkeeping coach of India U17 team), Virendra Kumar Sharma who has played for Maharashtra back in 1980’s and also coached renowned teams has emerged from Madanpura itself.

Here is the round up of the first day of this knockout tournament:

 

AYC 1-0 Sterling F.A

 

In the very first match of the Tournament, a fine goal by Joshua proved decisive as AYC edge out Sterling FA. A huge crowd turned up for the Tournament which is not surprising as one would think. Madanpura has always attracted the crowd towards any football events, it is usually a culture of playing football at Madanpura.
It was a pulsating match and saw few of the players getting booked. One of them was Iqbal Khan who was tremendous for the whole match.

Rabbani Sports Club 2-1 Madanpura S.C

Rabbani’s Anas Ansari scored brace which sealed the game for Madanpura S.C as they went on to register a narrow 2-1 victory.

Arbaz Ansari had put Madanpura S.C in front inside first five minutes, but Anas  leveled the score and then netted the winner to make an incredible comeback.

 

Milan F.A 2-1 KGN

 

Milan F.A showed no mercy as they ran out as winners against KGN to progress into the next round at YMC International Ground in Madanpura.

 

Nabel Ansari and Faizan Thange scored a piece for Milan FA. Two beautifully set up goals which gave KGN absolutely no chance to make a comeback.
Rizwan Ansari scored for KGN, but it proved to be too late too little.

DC United 1-0 Mominpura S.C

 

A solitary goal by Yunus Ansari proved decisive as DC United registered a narrow win against Mominpura SC. Yunus was a potent threat for his opponents, his dribbling skills, control was top notch as compare to any other player on the field.

 

DC United also defended well which gave Mominpura SC a huge task of leveling the score even though the deficit was only one goal.

 

J.J FC 3-0 Young Boys

 

JJ FC comprehensively got the better of Young Boys as they progressed into the next round with a 3-0 victory.

 

Ubaid on the 9th minute and Saalik on the half an hour mark were among the goalscorers as JJ FC marched towards the the next hurlde.

 

Naunehal 2-0 Classic FC

 

In a intense encounter between Naunehal and Classic FC, the former registered a 2-0 victory to make it into the next round.

 

Sajid Sabir proved to be the hero of Naunehal after scoring brace. His impressive performance has surely made him a potent threat for his counterparts.

 

United Boys 2-0 Tipu Sultan

United Boys put a great display of total football to ensure their progress into the next round with a 2-0 win. Right from the defense to attack, their way of playing was terrific. If they emulate this same performance, well they could go all the way.

 

Nadeem Khan and Shahbaz Khan scored a piece for the boys in green to send United Boys through.

 

Twinkle Stars 2-0 Warsi

 

Shehzad Khan and Kamran Ansari scored fine goals to help Twinkle Stars to register a narrow 2-0 victory. Twinkle Stars has a good core of young players as one has seen in this fixture. The players stepped up when it mattered the most, in all they played brilliantly throughout the match.
Twinkle Stars back line also stood firm and composed to prevent any goals from Warsi’s attackers.
