Kaiwalya Tare’s brace sinks Charkop FC in MDFA 2nd division
After a goalless first-half, Lakers FC produced a fine display of attacking football to overcome Charkop FC 2-0 in the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) 2nd Division Group G clash at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel on Thursday evening.
Kaiwalya Tare’s two second-half goals were enough to register yet another victory in the 2nd division. They have also beaten Falcons by the same scoreline earlier in the season. Lakers FC who had a shaky first-half stepped up in the second half to nail down their counterpart Charkop FC.
Both the teams failed to create any genuine chances in the first-half as they took their time to settle into the game. The first breakthrough came in the 41st minute when Kaiwalya’s sublime strike inside the box gave them a solitary lead. Suddenly, a sense of hope rose for Lakers FC as they were determined to win the game.
Their hard work paid off in the dying stages of the match when Kaiwalya doubled his tally to put the tie to bed. It was a memorable victory for Lakers FC as they are all geared up to gain promotion in the 1st division.
