India U-16 Girls gets set for AFC U-16 qualifiers

The one month long Preparatory camp has almost come to an end for the Indian U-16 Girls team that is going to take part in AFC qualifiers in Wei Fang, China. For the tournament, 20 Players have been selected to make the travel from the National camp that had 30 players for training and which began on 25 July in Patiala, Punjab
India is placed in Group B alongside Malaysia, Philippines, Northern Marina Islands and Heavy weights Korea Republic. Indian would have to be at the top of its game if they are going to challenge Malaysia or Korea opined head Coach Maymol Rocky.
Maymol had said, “There is no room for complacency. The girls are like rough diamonds. They have the potential to go a long way, but they need to work hard in order to evolve”
The Indian eves will face Philippines in their opening match of the AFC U-16 Qualifiers on August 28, 2016, before taking on Malaysia, Northern Mariana Islands and Korea Republic on September 01, 03, and 05, respectively.
Each team from the Top of its respective group table would qualify for the finals. DPR Korea, China, Japan and Thailand have been already fixed their spots based on the last edition final standings.
