Independence Cup 2016: Central Bank of India overcomes a strong Millat FC side to qualify for next round

St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel: In the first match of the Tournament, Central Bank of India displayed a commendable performance against Millat FC to defeat them 2-1, booking their place in the next round of the Tournament.
 
Nadeem Khan opened the scoring in the 11th minute for Central Bank of India after a beautiful attacking display in the final third. The number 10 doubled his tally in the second-half with a swift strike to further put Millat FC on backfoot.
 
Five minutes later, Asif Khan cut short the deficit for Millat FC as he scored past CBI’s custodian Scott Moraes.
 
It proved too late too little for Millat FC, as Central Bank of India held their nerves to qualify for the next round.
 
Central Bank of India will play the winner of Mumbai Customs and Central Railways (M.D)
