I-league giants East Bengal tie-up with European giants Real Madrid

East Bengal who are one of the top clubs in the I- league have hereby confirmed a potential tie-up with La Liga and European heavyweights Real Madrid over a youth development programme.

East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar confirmed of the tie-up which means Real Madrid’s technical team will travel to their residential  Academy in New Town Kolkata , to train their kids and one of the major highlights of this programme is that the trainees will be taken to La Fabrica for special training sessions.

La Fabrica is Real Madrid’s youth academy setup and has been well known for producing some of the finest talents. Mr Sarkar was also quoted saying that they were hopeful for a long, fruitful and meaningful association with the Spanish giants and that it could be a game-changer.

Despite East Bengal’s hopes of a long term deal with Real Madrid, Madrid officials have hereby confirmed that the deal is a short term one and that they want to enter  the Indian market with an open mindset. Mr Sarkar responded to this saying that the programme would be for a duration of 15 days. A technical team from the Madrid Academy will travel to Kolkata and train the academy players. Also stating that the players would travel to Real Madrid for similar kind of programmes.

The inaugration of the residential academy of East Bengal takes place on Saturday, 16th January 2016. As per twitter sources Indian legends Bhaichung Bhutia and I.M Vijayan will be present for this event.

While the deal looks a very short one, nonetheless it surely looks like a game-changer for the Indian football market which is undoubtedly huge and growing day by day.
