FFA U8, Bulls and Hawks registers wins on Day 2 of the Kenkre Community Cup
Sunday, 11th September 2016: Day 2 of the Kenkre Community Cup brought another excitement packed weekend for players and their families. As parents of participants and spectators flocked to the St. Andrew’s; The Play Ground for Kenkre Community Cup 2016, the tournament provided to be a fine backdrop for the development of grassroots and an overall growth of the footballing community in the city.
FFA U8 recorded a fine 2-0 win over Lions; courtesy of two goals scored by Shaun. FFA U8 is enjoying an excellent start to the tournament as they build-up for a successful term in their charge for glory.
Meanwhile, Hawks, who were part of two narrow results, saw themselves on the winning side against Squirrels while losing against Bulls. In Match 7, Hawks stumbled to a narrow loss to Bulls by two goals to one; Aryan Nayyar’s strike and an expensive own-goal cancelled Ishaan Naik’s goal for Hawks.
Though, much to the credit of their team spirit to fight back, Hawks carved a spirited 3-1 win over Squirrels; Nimay Shah stepped up and scored a hat-trick as Squirrel’s only goal from Vivan Malkhani proved mere consolation.
