Father Agnel Red to meet Bodyline F.C in MDFA Women’s league Final

Father Agnel Red and holders Bodyline F.C has emerged as winners in the semi final of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) Women’s League 2016 to set up a clash in the Final on Friday at Karnataka Sports Association (KSA) ground.
Semi Final 1: Father Agnel Red 4-0 Aadhar Pratishthan
In the first semi, Velonie Fernandes strike twice to help Father Agnel Red to register a thumping 4-0 victory over Aadhar Prastishthan. Michelle Castana and Sujitha Murgaonkar also got on the score sheet.
After a barren first fifteen minutes, Michelle Castana put Father Agnel Red in front with a sublime finish inside the 18-yard box leaving Aadhar Prastishthan Goalkeeper Liyanne Dhalla absolutely no chance to save Michelle’s shot.
Couple of minutes later, Velonie made it 2-0 after a neat finish which put Aadhar Pratishthan’s chances in jeopardy of making it into the final. In the second half, Velonie scored again with a swift strike on a counter attack to increase their lead to three goals.
Father Agnel Red scored their fourth and final goal late in the second-half when Sujitha Murgaonkar found the back of the net from close range. Father Agnel will be hoping to emulate this performance this performance when they meet a strong Bodyline F.C side.
Semi Final 2: Bodyline F.C 2-0 Father Agnel Blue
The defending champions of Women’s league Bodyline F.C earned a hard fought 2-0 victory over Father Agnel Blue at KSA ground to set up a clash with Father Agnel Red in the Final, which will be held on Friday at the same venue.
Tricia Colaco opened the scoring on the 11th minute when she pounced on a rebound to slot it home from close range to give Bodyline F.C a vital lead. Father Agnel Blue pushed forward in hope to find the equalizer but with Dhurva Vahia on goal for Bodyline F.C, it proved to be a daunting task for girls in blue.
In the dying minutes of the game, Father Agnel Blue had their chances but couldn’t capitalized and had to suffer another set back when Bodyline F.C’s Reetika Sahani curled her shot from the edge of the box into the corner of the net to put the final nail in the coffin.
The goal came in the injury time which made it impossible for Father Agnel Blue to make a comeback. With this win, Bodyline F.C has made it to the Final and will be facing Father Agnel Red in hope to retain their Title.
