DSK Shivajians sign Jerry Lalrinzuala and Sanju Pradhan for season ahead

Jerry Lalrinzuala and Sanju Pradhan

DSK Shivajians FC have today completed the signing of Left Back Jerry Lalrinzuala and Attacker Sanju Pradhan from Chennaiyin FC and FC Pune City.

In 18-year-old Jerry, DSK Shivajians have pulled off a major coup in landing the Emerging Player of the 2016 Indian Super League. A product of the AIFF Elite Academy, the Mizoram born Lalrinzuala was part of a select group of five players that were sponsored on a developmental stint with FC Metz’s Academy in France in May 2016. On his return, he made 13 appearances for Chennaiyin FC as one of the youngest ever players to play in the Indian Super League.  A vital cog in the Indian Youth Setup, Jerry has been part of every age group of the Indian National Side from the U14 all the way up to the U19 level.

Speaking on the signing, First Team Manager Dave Rogers said, “Two years ago, I came across Jerry playing for the India Under-16s and was so impressed that we tried to bring him to our LFC-DSK Academy. I knew then that this boy was going to be something special as his ability as a left-back, not just defensively but offensively, was outstanding. His energy levels, to get up and down the pitch, along with his quality on the ball, have improved immensely; and also defensively he has grown into the best young defender in the country. I am delighted to have signed Jerry and have no doubt that he can reach new levels with us here at DSK Shivajians. I look forward to continuing his development on the right pathway.”

In Sanju Pradhan, DSK Shivajians have brought in one of India’s most experienced wingers. The former East Bengal Club Captain, a winner of the Indian Super League, the Federation Cup and the Indian Super Cup, Pradhan comes into Dave Rogers’ side with a winning mentality. Added to his versatility in midfield, with the ability to play on either wing or in a central role Pradhan is an exciting prospect for the fans and management of the club alike.

Following the signing, First Team Manager Dave Rogers said, “I am delighted to have signed Sanju. His energy and his enthusiasm fit in perfectly to the style and tempo of football we play at DSK Shivajians. He has the great experience and a real appetite to continue progressing in his career and provides me with versatility and quality which will help our young squad. I look forward to working with Sanju on a daily basis. Having worked with Sanju during the Indian National Team preparatory camp ahead of the SAFF Cup 2016 success, I know first-hand what qualities he will bring to us.”
