DSK Shivajians rout PIFA Colaba 6-1 in U-16 Y-League
19th November 2016: PIFA Colaba welcomed DSK Shivajians in the Under-16 Youth League Maharashtra Zone at Cooperage Stadium, Churchgate on Saturday evening. What turned out to be reminiscent of the corresponding fixture, DSK Shivajians registered a comprehensive 6-1 victory to edge closer to finish Group B on top.
With this win, DSK Shivajians is comfortably leading Group B with 12 points in 4 games, scoring 24 goals and conceding a mere 4 goals only, whereas, PIFA Colaba is yet to win a match this season and is currently at the bottom of the table.
It only took the visitors seven minutes to open the scoring. Laldawngkima set up Sameer Kashyap who scored a sublime goal past PIFA Colaba’s custodian Maneet Malhotra to give DSK Shivajians a solitary lead. Five minutes later, Sameer doubled his and DSK’s lead by scoring another goal when Defender Lalramchhuana provided him with a delicate through ball.
Once again PIFA Colaba’s weakness was exploited by DSK Shivajians. High Pressing did the trick as the visitors dispossessed their counterpart number of times to break their rhythm of play.
Harsh Bartwal, who had a fantastic game when these two sides met in a corresponding fixture back in October, scored DSK Shivajians’ third goal in the 24th minute when Laldawngkima send him completely free on goal. It was Laldawngkima’s second assist of the game.
C. Lalremruata joined the party ten minutes from half-time as DSK increased theirs to four goals. Sameer Kashyap who had scored the first two goals now provided a fine assist to send the visitors into the break with a resounding score of 4-0.
PIFA Colaba finally managed to open their tally when Akash Rathod scored a brilliant goal in the 55th minute to cut short the deficit. Apart from Akash Rathod, Captain Akash Jadhav had a fine game who turned out to be the one assisting PIFA Colaba’s goal with a pinpoint pass.
Unfortunately for Nagesh Swamy’s side, DSK restored the parity through Laldawngkima who scored DSK’s fifth goal of the game. The final and sixth goal was scored by Clivert Demers in the injury time to complete a 6-1 rampage.
