KENKRE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE- DAY 8
Day 8 of Kenkre Champions League 2016 took place on Sunday 28th February. The entire day’s play consisted of 54 matches played across 4 pitches and a turf. The beauty of this league is that little kids get to play every week and showcase their talent, their skills in front of highly experienced coaches and their wonderfully supportive parents. The eight day of KCL 2016 was the penultimate day and it lived up to everyone’s expectations. KCL promotes youth of this city and that is certainly a great initiative. The Under 8 matches took place on the turf. The very first match on the turf in the Under 8 category saw Scottish Studs face AB Champs. AB Champs emerged victorious over Scottish Studs winning 3-0. The Under 12 and Under 14 categories had the best matches of the day. Some very close games and some very dominant performances. The day concluded with teams receiving their participation certificates. The next Sunday marks the final day of KCL 2016. Before the Go Green tournament begins, it was a great time for all the kids and their parents turning out in huge numbers at the Don Bosco ground. As mentioned by the coaches, these tournaments are a step in the right direction for the game of football to be recognised in India. With KCL coming to an end next week, the kids will surely miss waking up on Sunday and coming to play with their enthusiasm.
