Day 5 Round-up: Rustomjee Kenkre Champions League

Sunday 7th Feb, 2016 witnessed Day 5 of the Kenkre Champions League held on the Dos Bosco Matunga Turf.  A total of 10 matches took place as per the day’s schedule. Here are the detailed updates of all the 10 matches played.

Match 1: OneWorld Tamasha vs Scottish Studs

The first of the  Under-8 matches. Scottish Studs came out victorious beating OneWorld Tamasha by 1-0. Prithvi Jagnani scored the only goal of the match. He was judged the Man of the Match.

Match 2: Bulls vs Lions

The second Under-8 match saw Lions beat Bulls by 4-1.  Aryan Jitendra bagged a hattrick as a result of which he was declared the Man of the Match. The 4th goal was an own goal by Jahhann Sanghvi. Bulls got one back through Kahaan Juthani.

Match 3: FFA vs St.Stanislaus

FFA beat St Stanislaus by 1-0. Mehlam Dilawer scored the only goal of the match which turned out to be the winner. The Man of the Match award also went to Mehlam Dilawer.

Match 4: OneWorld Tamasha vs SFA

OneWorld Tamasha ran out 1-0 winners against SFA in the fourth game of the day. Plash netted the winner also earning him the Man of the Match award.

Match 5:  Lions vs Scottish Avengers

Scottish Avengers beat Lions by 2-0. Rehaan Bhat and Ishan Singh scored the goals of this match. The Man of the Match award went to Arnav Agarwal for his outstanding overall performance. The first time in five games that a goal scorer did not win Man of the Match. Well deserved.

With Match 5 the Under-8 fixtures for the day were complete as we moved on to the Under-10 matches. A total of 5 Under-10 matches were scheduled to complete proceedings of KCL Day 5.

Match 6 : Scottish Strikers vs OneWorld Blufury

The first of the Under-10 matches. As Scottish boys claimed the victory over OneWorld Bluefury as Adiv scored the only goal of the match. The final scoreline read Scottish Strikers 1-0 OneWorld Blufury. Adiv was picked the Man of the Match.

Match 7: OneWorld BluHawks vs Balmohan U-10 A

OneWorld Bluhawks won by 6-0 in a goalfest of a game beating Balmohan U-10 A. Four of their players were on the scoresheet for Bluhawks. Vansh Mangtani and Hadnaan both scored two goals each. Whereas Param Shah and Tanay Mehta rounded off the scoring with a goal each to their name. Param Shah went home with the Player of the Match award for scoring one and setting up a couple of goals.

Match 8: Scottish Strikers vs Balmohan U-10 B

This match saw Scottish Strikers beat Balmohan U-10 B by 5-0. There were five different scorers on the scoresheet. Arnav , Adam, Vishal, Ishaan and Diptansh were the players to score for the Scottish Strikers. It was a tough choice for the Player of the Match award with five different scorers and some brilliant individual perfrmances. But Ishaan was judged the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.

Match 9: OneWorld BluHawks vs Bombay Blasters

OneWorld BluHawks edged out Bomabay Blasters by a single goal as the game ended 1-0. Vansh Mangtani was on target yet again for  OneWorld BluHawks. The Player of the Match went to Haplaan.

Match 10:  Bajrangi Boyz vs Balmohan U-10 B

The final game of the day saw Bajrangi Boys beat Balmohan U-10 B by 3-0. Vedant Somwanshi, Vivek Rai and  Sachchit Jha were on target for their team. Vivek Rai was given the Man of the Match award for his impressive showing in the match.

This brings to the close day 5 of Kenkre Champions League. A total of 26 goals were scored during the day as the support for these little champions was in huge numbers. With 4 more days remaining for the KCL 2016 to end we can surely say that it has been a huge success for the 5 Days already completed.
