Companeros (B) cruise to a 3-1 win over Sagar Mitra Mandel(B)
19th October, Parel: Comparneroes (B) registered a comfortable 3-1 win over Sagar Mitra Mandal in their Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), Second division, Group B match held at St Xavier’s ground Parel, October 19th, 2016.
It was the Companeros side that made the better start to the match. Arnold Misquita, put the Companeroes ahead in the 6th minute. They were not done yet. Some relentless play led to the second goal with Kunal Tikrule finding the back of the net. Just when it looked like Sagar Mitra Mandal could find a way back, Campaneros made it 3-0 in the 15th minute. Harish Kundapur found the target. It looked like Campaneros (B) would run away with more goals.
Ajay Joshi grabbed a consolation for Sagar Mitra Mandel in the 25th minute. Campaneros (B) had inflicted the early damage and done their work in the opening 15 minutes. It remained 3-1 in the second half as well.
In the end, a convincing performance for Campaneros (B) who not only capitalised on the errors made by their opponent but also were clinical in finishing off their goal scoring chances. Sagar Mitra Mandal (B) will have a lot of thinking to do in their next match as they look to restore their side’s chances of progression in the next match.
