Bombay Muslim fight back to hold Springfield SC in a thrilling 2-2

15 October, Mumbai Football Arena: Bombay Muslim came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Springfield SC in their Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), Super Division match held at Mumbai Football Arena (Andheri Sports Complex), on Saturday, October 15th,2016.

It was the Springfield SC side who started the brightest among the two and were rewarded early in the first half. Sujan. S put them 1-0 ahead in the 20th minute while a clinical strike from Jabin.P doubled their lead in the 25th minute. Bombay Muslim were left stunned at the break with Springfield SC going in with a two-goal advantage at the break.

The second half saw a transformed Bombay Muslim who looked to come back in the match. Afshaan Shaikh netted Bombay Muslim’s first goal in the 62nd minute to give them some hope. While Sachet Bhatt scored the equaliser eight minutes from time in the 82nd minute.

In the end, it was a hard-fought point earned by Bombay Muslim whereas Springfield SC will feel they let down a glorious chance to grab all three points. This definitely proved to be a match of two halves which finished a four-goal thriller.
