Bhagyashree inspires Maharashtra to 8-0 victory over Chhattisgarh

In the ongoing AIFF Junior Women’s Championship in Odisha, International brilliance Bhagyashree Dalvi netted five goals as Maharashtra thrashed Chattisgarh 8-0 on Monday, the opening match of the group.

In the first half, Maharashtra took a comfortable 2-0 lead through Bhagyashree clean finish and Karen Pais, clinical finish raising the tempo of the game. After the break, with a plan to keep the ball low and short passes, the Maharashtra girls left no room for errors and thus emerged victorious. In the 53rd minute Bhagyashree scored the third goal and three minutes later completed her hat-trick. Meanwhile, Karen struck once again with Tricia Colaco chipping a goal too, with 10 minutes still to play Bhagyashree found the net in the 83rd minute and again on the brink of full time to complete the rout. With this win, Chattishgarh has knocked out of the tournament losing previously to Manipur 12-0.

In a completely dominating performance by the Maharashtrian girls, strong attacking plan and midfield action by the Maharashtrian attacker, The girls have definitely left a mark and raised the standard of the tournament.

Maharashtra will face Manipur on Wednesday after been knocked out of the tournament by them last year.
