Bank of India humiliates Central Railway M.D 6-1 in Super Division

Bank of India (BOI) produced a stellar display of attacking football to humiliate Central Railway M.D 6-1 in MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) Super Division clash at Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri Sports Complex on Wednesday evening.

Aishwarya Palekar and Charles Fernandes netted a fine brace, whereas, Gaurav More and Krupesh Sherwade score one goal each for Bank of India. Meanwhile, Asif Jamal scored the lone goal for Central Railway MD.

Bank of India came into this match with a 1-0 victory against Chheda Nagar and produced a much better performance to nail down their counterpart.

Aishwarya Palekar opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a fine finish when Shankar Thakur set him up with a delicate ball. Shankar eventually managed to set three goals yesterday who was eventually one of the best players on the field alongside Aishwarya.

The second goal came just five minutes into the second-half when Charles Fernandes scored a brilliant goal which was once again assisted by Shankar. Three minutes later, Charles made it 3-0 after Aishwarya’s pinpoint cross was latched on by the number 8.

With 15 minutes left, Aishwarya doubled his lead as he combined with Shankar to increase Bank of India’s lead by four goals. Gaurav More and Krupesh Sherwade scored the final two goals which were equally fine goals to register an empathic 6-1 victory.

Shankar’s three assists and Aishwarya’s two goals and two assists stood out on top as Bank of India ran out as winners, yet again.
