Alex Fernandes is the hero as Atlanta FC edge I.C United to win 1-0
October 14, Parel: Atlanta FC overcame a resilient I.C United side to win 1-0 in their Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) First Division match Group “B” held at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on Friday, October 14th, 2016.
Both Atlanta FC and I.C United started with a cautious approach but it was Atlanta who took the lead in the 14th minute. Alex Fernandes netted the goal that put them in front in the 14th minute. A nervy first half ended with 1-0 in favour of Atlanta FC.
In the second half, I.C United look to press for the equaliser but all efforts went in vain as Atlanta maintained a compact shape at the back thwarting all the chances. The full-time scoreline stayed the same as Alex Fernandes’ goal proved to be the winner.
A closely contested match in which Atlanta FC earned all three points whereas I.C United will look to make a comeback in the next match.
