Air India vs PIFA Colaba U-`17 ends in an entertaining 3-3 draw.

18 October, Parel: Air India and PIFA Colaba U-17 were involved in a thrilling 3-3 draw in their Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), Second Division, Group A match held on St Xavier’s ground Parel on Tuesday, October 18th, 2016.

An edge of the seat affair later in the second half, it took a while before the match exploded into life. The first was a very cagey affair and had its moments in bits and parts. But it was Air India who took the lead in the 13th minute. No.3 Kalpesh Rane fired them in front as they were rewarded for some patient build up. It took PIFA on five minutes to restore parity. Vishal. S levelled the scores in the 18th minute. The half ended 1-1 with both teams looking to go in front.

With 45 minutes left to make an impact, the game exploded into life in the second half. Nehal Shetty netted just one minute into the second half and Vishal. S completed his brace as PIFA Colaba led 3-1 in the 51st minute. Air India then began to chase the game with a few tricks of their own and they pulled one goal back through Tyson Pereira in the 57th minute. A few nervy minutes from PIFA led to the equaliser with Tyson Pereira again on target, this time levelling the scores to make it 3-3.

The match although ended in a 3-3 draw but could have had other outcomes if only the teams had been more clinical in the final third and a bit cautious at the back. A point gained by both sides in a roller coaster of a match is all that we can say.
