Young St. Joseph High School squad hold Greenlawns for a tie

The MSSA U-16 Boys 4th Division Clash between GreenLawns School ‘Worli’ and St. Joseph High School ‘Colaba’ ended in a tie with both teams scoring a goal each by the end of full time, in the match held at MSSA Grounds on 14th August.

Greenlawns seemed as the superior side in front of the little St. Joseph players who were younger then their opponents. They were able to terriorise St. Joseph side by scoring in the 10th minute as their striker, Dhruv Jains corner kick found Ashwin Bhatia who easily netted the opening goal.

Vivek Balguhar settled the scores 6 minutes later, as he recieved a through ball from Bhavik Meher which he converted into a goal as the helpless Greenlawns goalkeeper charged towards him to collect the ball.

The Second half of the game was dominated by the St. Joseph as their strikers Kaustabh Panchal , Bhavik Meher, Vivek Balguhar penetrated Greenlawns defense but sadly failed to score.

As the final whistle blew, the game ended in a tie with Vivek Balguhar and Ashwin Bhatia being the only goal scorers for their respective sides.

Ashwin Bhatia speaking on St. Joseph players said, “They looked small to us but by the second half they showed their skills.”

Nagesh Swamy, coach of St.Joseph High School felt that his team could have performed better. He had to manage with U-14 players leading the strike as two of their key players couldnt play this season due to thier SSC exams this year.
