Two late goals helps Air India overcome a dominant Central Railway

4th December, 2015 Air India scored two late goals to overcome a dominant Central Railway side 2-0 in Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) Elite Division at Cooperage Stadium.
Central Railway who dominated the whole match had to pay for their misses late in the match when Subhash Chakraborty put the defending champions infront on the 85th minute and five minutes later Raynier Fernandes sealed the match from the spot.
Central Railway started off brightly. On the 9th minute, the Railways could have taken the lead when Karim Shaikh found Ajinkya Nalande in the box, the number 10 lashed a right footed shot which went wide.
Central Railways kept pressing Air India earlier in the match and in return they almost broke the deadlock.
Star midfielder Sajandeep Singh dispossesed Air India’s Mashoor Shereet and rolled the ball towards Karim Shaikh, whose powerful shot struck the right hand post.
On the 31st minute, it was Air India who came close to score. Raynier Fernandes’s brilliant cross met Aaron D’Costa who saw his looping header going over the post.
Sajandeep Singh bossed the midfield for Central Railway, he was on the mark on 35th minute when his left footed shot sailed over the bar.
