Top 4 DFA qualifies for the semifinals of Maharashtra Interdistrict Football Championship.

The semi-final matches to be played tomorrow between Mumbai vs Jalgaon and Nagpur vs Pune, all worthy qualifiers for the Semi-finals, to be held at Chatrapati Shivaji Stadium, Miraj (Sangli). The former starts at 2pm and the later starts at 3:30pm.

The tournament started from 17th of December onwards, and were played at two venues, District Sports Centre, Sangli and Chhatrapati Shivaji stadium, Miraj.

The participated teams who played at the Sangli venue are, Mumbai DFA, Hingoli DFA, Akola DFA, Bhandara DFA, Nanded DFA, Jalgaon DFA, Chandrapur DFA, Kolhapur DFA, Nashik DFA, Yavatmal DFA, Parbhani DFA, Beed DFA, Gadhchiroli DFA, Lathur DFA and Gondia DFA. From which, Mumbai DFA and Jalgaon DFA secured their position for the Semi-finals to be held at 2pm at the Miraj Venue.

On the opening day of this knockout tournament, at the Sangli venue, the first match was held between Hingoli vs Bhandara 4-0, in which Hingoli went through to the second round with help of Adnan’s brace and Adnan’s another goal during Hingoli vs Nanded 1-0, added 3 goals to Adnan’s bucket in total during the knockout tournament rounding him up at par with Arfat Ansari, from Mumbai DFA, who scored a hat-trick against Hingoli, 3-0. The second match played by Mumbai DFA was against Akola, where the match ended 4-1 in the tie-breaker, which solidified Mumbai’s position for the semi-finals.

Jalgaon DFA, stands as the opponent to Mumbai DFA for the semi-finals, after winning against Chandrapur 3-0, and Kolhapur 6-5 during penalty shoot outs.

Respectively the opening matches at the, Chatrapati Shivaji Stadium, Miraj (Sangli), were held between Sangli DFA vs Buldhana DFA 5-0, the other teams who played at this venue till the end of quarter finals are, Pune DFA, Amravati DFA, Jalna DFA, Ahmednagar DFA, Dhule DFA, Thane DFA, Solapur DFA, Osmanabad DFA, Aurangabad DFA, Satara DFA, Washim DFA, Nadurbad DFA and Nagpur DFA. The last match of the quarter finals at the Miraj venue was won by Nagpur DFA 6-0 against Aurangabad, with a whopping 4 goals by Udesh Chandravanshi himself, which made him the top scorer of the tournament followed by MDFA’S Arfat Ansari and HDFA’s Adnan both scoring 3 goals.

Pune DFA and Nagpur DFA are the two teams who qualified for the Semi-finals, which will be held 3:30pm on 22nd December, at the same venue.
