Ten man Rhino S.C edged past Juhu Beach United

On 11th October, 2015 Rhino S.C clashed against Juhu Beach United at St Xavier Football Ground, Parel. Eariler in the first half Rhino S.C was down to ten man but somehow they still managed to hold Juhu Beach United for more than fifty minutes and edged past them 1-0.

Among both the teams, it was Juhu Beach United who started off brightly. Forward Tarang Manjeshwar was set on goal by Siddharth Kriplani, his powerful shot rattled the bar which could have been proved to be an important goal for Juhu Beach United.

On 18th minute, a dangerous ball was cleared by the Juhu Beach United’s defenders which eventually came towards Pervez Shaikh’s path whose volley found the top corner from twenty five yards, making it 1-0 in favour of Rhino S.C.

The execution of the volley was something which is not seen regularly.

Just five minutes later, a disaster moment for Rhino’s awaited. Their goalkeeper Mayor D’Silva was sent off after he handled the ball from outside the box which made the Referee sent him off to the bench.

It was quite a disastrous moment for both, the team and Mayor. Now with advantage going into Juhu Beach United’s way as they were a men up, Rhino S.C knew that they have to defend for their life for the next fifty minutes irrespective of whether they attack or sit back.

Juhu’s Omang Shah saw his lob effort saved by Rhino’s goalkeeper which could have been another great goal of this clash.

Mid way into the second half, Rhino’s Aman Patel put a dangerous low cross into the box which Philip D’Souza blasted over the bar from just seven yards. Philip’s goal could have clinched the game for Rhino S.C there itself.

Into the stoppage time, Juhu Beach United pushed all their players up front with even their goalkeeper Aditya Mookul coming forward. A Sensational shot from Uday Rachekla almost went in when Rhino’s goalkeeper made a superb save to give them all three points.

It was Rhino’s courageous defence that stopped Juhu Beach United, even with ten man Rhino S.C showed enough determination to edge past the boys in yellow.
