St Paul thrashed Sea View 6-0

On 24th October, 2015 St. Paul’s combined well as a team and capitalised on the chances that came their way to register a thumping 6-0 victory against Sea View in the 1st Division of Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) at St Xaviers Ground, Parel.
Striker Shrey Sawant scored a brace, while Gavin D’Souza, Jagdish Lobo, Marshal Francis and Sahil Hate, all chipped in with one apiece to complete the big win.
Not for a moment St Paul looked back for the whole match, they kept dominating Sea View FC right from the start and continued to do so for the rest of the match.
It didn’t took much time for St Paul to open the scoring, Marshal Francis’s delightful lob ball found Gavin D’Souza who lobbed his effort over Sea View’s goalkeeper Abhishek Singh to take the lead.
Moments later, St Paul’s Sahil Hate set Shrey Sawant on goal who had a golden opportunity to score their second goal but shot was just off target.
On 22nd minute, St Paul got another opportunity. Jagdish Lobo’s impressive game reading saw him anticipating Sea View’s ball possession, he danced past two defenders and fancied a long range shot which went over the bar. This could have been their second goal of the evening.
Though Jagdish didn’t made any mistake two minutes later as he lobbed his effort over the Sea View’s goalkeeper Abhishek Singh to make it 2-0.
St Paul went into the break with a two goals advantage, making them clear favourites for the match.
The second-half got worse for Sea View FC. St Paul ran riot after the break as they managed to find the net four times inside 40 minutes.
Six minutes into the second half, Striker Shrey Sawant’s precise ball towards the right flank found Marshal Francis who beat the offside trap and placed his effort into the goal, making it 3-0 for St Paul.
On 56th minutes, Shrey scored his first goal of the match after a delightful lob over the goalkeeper from Sahil Hate’s through ball.
Chetan Jagande who was impressive for the whole match made series of key passes and dictated St Paul’s game, his fantastic ball to Sahil Hate is one of them, which helped them scoring their fifth goal against Sea View FC. Sahil’s left foot strike from inside the box proved to be too good for Sea View’s goalkeeper.
St Paul scored their final goal of the game in the dying minutes, Shrey doubled his tally after he chipped over the goalkeeper to make it 6-0 for the home side.
It was a tremendous evening for St Paul as they topped Sea View in each and every aspect.
