St Joseph HS (U-14), Trouble Makers Academy (U-16 Girls), Football Leaders Academy (U-16), Don Bosco A (U-12), Serco (Corporate) and Football Leaders (Open) lift the ‘Umbro Cup’

Mumbai, 1st November 2015: In the Mumbai leg finals, St Joseph High School beat Sri Ma Vidayalaya 3-1 in the U-14 category to lift the ‘Umbro Cup’ trophy played at Indian Football School, Cooperage Football Ground, Maharshi Karve Road, Colaba, Mumbai. Samar Patel, Rohan Howal and Rohan Salvi scored one goal each in the final match. Ashwin Menon scored the lone goal from Sri Ma Vidayalaya. In a hard fought final, both teams were on the offensive but St Joseph triumphed in the end.

The U-16 (Girls) finals saw Trouble Makers Academy beat M United Academy 1-0. Ark D’Silva’s lone goal was enough for them to take home the coveted Umbro Cup.

In the U-16 category finals, both teams, Football Leaders Academy and Childhood Academy played some attacking football and were locked at 2-2 at full time. Sunil and Mukesh Rathod scored one goal each for Football Leaders Academy and Atul Ghodke and Yash Gambre scored for Childhood Academy. The game went on to penalty shoot outs, where each team found the back of the net thrice. Finally, Football Leaders Academy was adjudged the winners by a coin toss.

The U-12 category finals had to be decided on penalties. Don Bosco A and Campion School were tied 2-2 at full time. Don Bosco A beat Campion School 5-4 on penalties. Karsten D’Souza scored three, Errol Noronha and Harsh Palande scored one each for Don Bosco A, while Amar and Shyam scored two goals each for Campion School.

In the Corporate category Serco beat JP Morgan 2-0 to bring home the cup. Gouraj and Bosco Pereira scored two goals each for Serco. In the Open category, Football Leaders beat DRFC 3-2 in a well fought final match between the two teams. Prathamesh Kasare’s three goals did the trick for Football Leaders as Sushil Kawde and David D’Souza scored 1 goal each for DRFC.

Taisuke Matsugae, the Japanese and Mumbai FC star player presented the winners with the ‘Umbro Cup’ at the presentation ceremony held here in Mumbai.
