Sensational Avinash Pandey strike earns Chincholi F.C a point against Jupiter F.C

Jupiter FC played S.C Chincholi in M.D.F.A (Mumbai District Football Association) 3rd division at Xavier’s ground, Parel, where both the team cancelled out each other in a match which lacked finishing touch as both teams settled for a 2-2 draw

S.C Chincholi started very brightly as they looked to take the lead from the first minute itself, the urge of scoring was seen clearly in each player of S.C Chnicholi from the kick-off, and it did deliver when a ball from right flank came in the box making Jupiter FC goalkeeper come out of his line which cost the goal. Ravish Mishra precisely headed over the keeper to make it 1-0 inside 3 minutes for S.C Chincholi. A start, both the teams were looking for.

After conceding early, Jupiter FC dominated rest of the first half, they were looking more fragile and sharp than S.C Chincholi where they kept the possession and tried penetrating S.C Chincholi’s back line. S.C Chincholi’s back line was more compact and composed than their midfielders which kept them in game. The hard work of Jupiter FC, finally, paid off.

On 17 minutes, a cross from Dinesh Kamat found Mayuresh Sobedar who headed it perfectly to make the score 1-1. The header was so clinical and precise that, S.C Chincholi’s keeper didn’t even move. Well, he never thought that would go in. Such was the precision.

Just before first-half ended, Jupiter FC’s Aditya Gawle was pulled back in the box, the referee awarded the penalty and cautioned the S.C Chincholi’s defender.

Aditya Gawle, himself, stepped up to take the penalty. Aditya shot on goalkeeper’s left which was quite powerless, the goalkeeper Anirudh Mishra saved it comfortably leaving the score 1-1 in first half.

The second half was a dull affair where both the teams rarely attempted on goal. 10 minutes into the second half, a big howler from S.C Chincholi’s defender Avinash Pandey made the score 2-1 for Jupiter FC.

A low ball by Chinmay Mulay found Leibert Fernandes in the box who failed to control the ball, but while clearing the ball, S.C Chinchol’is defender Avinash Pandey found his own net. Yes, an Own Goal.

Though with only few minutes left, a huge moment for S.C Chincholi prevailed. Referee awarded S.C Chincholi a free kick just yard ahead of half line. Avinash Pandey decided to take it; no one knew what was happening in his mind, with all his power, Avinash shot in such way that it actually found the back of the net and making it 2-2 right the end. The goalkeeper couldn’t believe what just happened, he just stood there and kept watching the ball as it sailed over him.

The referee blows the whistle and it ended 2-2 between S.C Chincholi and Jupiter F.C.

In another 3rd Division game, Kapadia Nagar FC drew 0-0 with Christ Church FC
