Second half Chheda Nagar exploits dismantles Blitzkrieg SC
Chedda Nagar’s intuitive performance bagged them a 3-0 win against Blitzkriez SC in the 1st division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) at the St. Xavier’s Ground in Parel on 16th September, 2015.
Nothing came out from the first few minutes of the game as the teams were trying to settle in the game matching each other’s play. Chedda Nagar looked more Dominating than Blitzkriez as they failed to control the ball.
In the 12th minute Blitzkriez got a chance when Nitesh Sarmalkar gave a through ball to Kunal Trivedi who sent a shot flying towards the goal but his efforts were blocked by the goalkeeper. The shot was at a good height for the goalkeeper and a low effort could have put Blitzkrieg in front.
Chedda Nagar’s Shavez Surve shot from a tight corner in the 24th minute but unfortunately goalkeeper made a good save to deny him.
Few minutes before the half time Chedda Nagar tried to shoot from a free kick when Arijit Deb went past a defender and crossed to Rakesh Menon whose volley went just over the crossbar.
The first half ended goalless as neither team had their finishing boots on.
Chedda Nagar were gifted a goal in the 51st minute when goalkeeper failed to control the ball allowing Shavez Surve to place it on target.
Another goal came in the 57th minute when Rakesh Menon received a pass from Nitesh Sarmalkar from the half line before he carried it inside the box and fired it on the target to double Chheda Nagar’s lead.
Shavez Surve scored again in the 60th minute and made it 3-0 when the centre back found him with a neat long ball as Surve rounded off the goalkeeper to score.
Chheda Nagar’s second blitz stunned Blitzkrieg as they went down 3-0 to them.
