Sagar Mitra Mandal dumped Bombay Disabled 1-0

Sagar Mirtra Mandal defeated Bombay Disabled by 1-0 in the 3rd Division match of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on 19th March 2015. The match came to life during the second half as Bombay Disabled tried their best to match with Sagar Mitra Mandal.

The first 5 minutes of the match was of very slow pace as the ball was only passed from one side to another and either team did not get the chance to score a goal. The players made their moves only at the centre of the ground.

The first goal was scored by Sagar Mitra Mandal’s Aditya Bhanushali who kicked the ball towards the goal and in an attempt to save the ball it touched goalkeeper’s hand and this made the ball go into the net. The goal put Bombay Disabled in a disadvantageous position.

In the 10th minute Sagar M.M’s player got another chance to score but Sarvesh Puttran kicked the ball with great intensity leading the ball to go over the net.

In the 12th minute, Bombay Disabled’s Rohan Mane had two chances to score but in both the cases the ball went above the net. The failure in scoring the goal at this point was because they were under pressure.

In the 18th minute Sagar M.M‘s Sarvesh Puttran passed the ball to Shradesh Vishwasrao but he did not kick the ball with the needed intensity and the ball did not reach the goal.

Just 5 minutes before half time Bombay Disabled’s Mahesh Nair had a good chance to score but he failed to pass the ball to the correct player and the lack of coordination was the reason they were behind during the first half. This chance could have granted them a goal which could have increased their chances of winning.

At the end of first half Sagar Mitra Mandal were leading by 1-0 and Bombay Disabled were still awaiting for their chance to score.

During the second half Bombay Disabled were under pressure and the players became quite aggressive.

In the 35th minute, Bombay Disabled player Vimal Arora while stopping the ball deliberately pushed a player of the opponent team. Referee Ivo Fernandez gave him a yellow card and warned him for his behavior.

Even after the warning by referee Ivo Fernandez, Vimal became violent and slapped Omkar Surum of opponent team at 38min and he also used offensive language against him. Referee Ivo Fernandez took a correct decision and showed him red card for his unacceptable behavior. This behavior showed Bombay disabled player’s state of mind due to failure in scoring a goal.

Sagar mitra mandal’s team work and unity made them the winners and also the hero of this game.

Earlier in the morning, another 3rd Division match was played between Tarun Sporting and Universal S.C, and both the teams failed to score a goal as the game ended 0-0. Neither team could dominate and the game had very few chances to score.
