Registrations now open for Mumbai’s finest footballing talent hunt

Spikes & Grass offers young budding footballers of the city a great chance to showcase their talent in front of some of the biggest names in Mumbai Football with a U-21 Talents Cup to be held on Saturday, 13th June 2015 at the Dribble Football Turf in Borivali West.

The single day event will feature twenty four sides battle it out for glory with each team consisting of a squad of eight (5 Players+3 substitutes). All these players will get a chance to impress four highly qualified coaches who coach teams in the MDFA Leagues and will be scouting for talent to play for their sides.

Mr. Ahasan Ansari (Magic Bus – 1st Division), Rafique Shaikh (Rahee Foundation – 3rd Division), Gaurang Chauhan (Leher FC – 3rd Division), Shah Shaikh (Magic Bus – 3rd Division) are the coaches who have confirmed their presence for the event.

So the participating players would have a trial like situation while enjoying the thrills of a football tourney.

Apart from this great platform to prove their mettle, some lucrative prizes await those who come out on top, with the winners earning a cash prize of Rs.12000 along with winner’s certificates to add to the trophy/

The runners-up will go home with a cash prize of Rs.6000, a trophy and certificates while the 2nd Runners-up’s efforts will be recognized by being given certificates and the trophy.

The best outfield player will receive a cash prize of Rs.1000 along with a certificate as a testimony to it. Similar reward awaits the best lad between the sticks.

The tournament will begin at 8 am in the morning and go on till 7pm in the evening. The tournament has a semi-league knockout tournament with the top three teams locked into a league format, which will help in having the best team to be crowned champions with the jackpot of the penalty shootout avoided at such a crucial juncture.

So for those who already can’t wait to grab this opportunity, the registrations are open for teams to register themselves. The entry fee of the tournament is Rs.1500 per team. Registrations close on 10th June 2015. Only players born after 1st June 1994 are allowed to take part in the competition.
