Mumbai FC Vs Bengaluru FC

Mumbai FC’s caliber will be put to its sternest test when they entertain Champions Bengaluru FC at Cooperage on Tuesday 3rd March 2015.

Mumbai FC are red hot form going into this clash with the Champions, having won three on the spin, with the latest one coming away to Bharat FC at the Balewadi Stadium on Friday.

Mumbai FC are unbeaten on their home patch, winning two and drawing one in the process.

The home side’s great run of results had coincided with the team’s growing solidity at the back. Mumbai FC have conceded just one goal in their last four games and always seem to pose a threat upfront with the likes of Jayesh Rane notching up some breath taking displays.

He is likely to be the danger man and Mumbai FC will be delighted to have him for this game after AIFF granted him the permission to join up with the national team after the game.

Bengaluru FC too come into this game in a good run of form after bouncing back from the shocking 4-1 defeat at the hands of Mohun Bagan last month.

Bengaluru FC have have had a topsy-turvy ride away from home, winning two and losing two games. But they have been finding the net regularly on the road, failing to score just once against East Bengal, while racking up eight goals away from the Kanteerava Stadium.

Both teams have no injury worries and have a fully fit squad to choose from. Climax Lawrence is slowly building up his match fitness, while Joshua Walker has been passed fit after training ahead of the game at Cooperage.

There was nothing to choose between the two sides when the sides met last year with both encounters ending in score draws. It promises to be another closely fought encounter tomorrow as the two in form sides in the league, go head to head.

A win for the hosts will mean they will leapfrog their visitors into the third place, while a win for the Champions would send them top of the I-League charts. A repeat of last year’s result will see both the teams maintain their current standings.

It is huge game for both the sides, especially for Mumbai FC who will be looking to lay down a marker and signal their intent to the rest of the league by bringing down the Champions. Will a win mean Mumbai are genuine title contenders, only time will tell.
