Rahul MM take on Rivals Ansh Travels 1-0

Ansh Travels the Table toppers of Group E, 3rd Division MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association), lost out to their rivals Rahul MM with Pranal Shetty scoring the only goal and helping maintain their hold on to the 2nd position on 19th April, 2015.

The unbeaten record of Ansh Travels came to an end in the Sunday Morning match at Xavier’s Ground ‘Parel’.  Ansh Travels had the first chance to score in the 2nd minute of the game itself, when Aadil Lakdawala received an able through ball from his Captain Nitesh Pawar but failed to score.

But it was Pranal Shetty, who scored the only goal of the day; in the 18th minute a header which made it into the goal and with the shift of power towards Rahul MM the first half ended.

The second half witnessed the game shift dominance from the control of Ansh Travels  to Rahul MM. Ravi Lakka, Lloyd Noronha and Pranal Shetty attacked Ansh Travels but couldn’t penetrate the goal with Ansh Travel’s goalkeeper Awais Shaikh being the custodian.

The ball possession remained with Ansh Travel for most part of the game but Rahul MM were quick to counter attack. Pranal Shetty was at his best and Rahul MM managed to hold Ansh Travel to deny them an equalizer.

As the final whistle blew, Rahul MM had defeated their rivals Ansh Travels 1-0.  With just few weeks left for 3rd Division playoffs to begin, Ansh Travel’s goalkeeper Awaiz Shaikh remained Confident, “We will make it, still on the top of the table.”

Earlier that day, Rudra Academy and Lokhandwala faced each other & the match ended Goalless with both the teams failing to score.
