QPR coaches share experience with city kids

Ramsey along with QPR coach Alexander Carroll, are in the city to select two children for a coaching clinic that will be conducted exclusively by the Queens Park Rangers (QPR) coaching teams in UK, later in April 2015.

Mumbai, January 25: Chris Ramsey, QPR (Queens Park Rangers) Head of Player Development and Academy Manager and assisted by Alexander Carroll a coach of the London club, watched, monitored and shared their expertise teaching youngsters the basic football skills during a selection trail sessions, at the Western Railway ground, Lower Parel.

A total of 45 children from municipal, government aided and private schools, who were shortlisted during the Milind Deora-QPR South Mumbai Junior Soccer Challenger 2014, participated in the two-day trials.

Ramsey and Alexander Carroll are in the city to select two children for a coaching clinic that will be conducted exclusively by the Queens Park Rangers (QPR) coaching teams in UK, later in April 2015. The final decision and the names of the two selected kids will be announced on Monday.

Ramsey a former Tottenham Hotspur coach explained to the eager children the finer points of the game and to work hard in order to improve their game. He also showed kids on how to trap and control the ball. Carroll supervised the young players and showed how to keep the ball under control when dribbling to get past opponents.

The enthusiastic young footballers were keen to show-off their skills and try to impress the two QPR coaches in a bid to make the trip to UK for the coaching clinic later this year.

The children have their fingers crossed hoping to be selected.
