Pooja Dhamal to lead Maha Girls’ U-18 team

Mumbai, September 4: Pooja Dhamal of Mumbai District has been appointed captain of the Maharashtra Girls’ Under-18 team which will participate in the AIFF National Football Championship to be conducted in Goa commencing from Monday, October 5, 2015.

Maharashtra in placed in Group-C along with Haryana and Sikkim.

The team boasts of four players who have represented the junior India teams in several international tournaments. They are Bhagyashree Dalvi, Karen Pias, Aditi Shetty and Zarastyn Mistry.

The Head Coach of the team is Durva Vahia, an AFC ‘C’ License holder and the Manager is Jasmin Mistry.
Maharashtra take on Sikkim in the opening in Group match on October 5 and then clash with Haryana on October 9. Both the matches will be played at the C which will be held at Raia Ground.

The team: Vaishnavi Susar, Nikita Jadhav (both Buldhana), Vandana Gavli (Jalgaon), Pooja Dhamal, Bhagyashree Dalvi, Aditi Shetty, Karen Pais, Ankita Shinde, Zarastyn Mistry (all Mumbai), Sasha Pimento Joseph, Smriti Radhakrishnan, Muriel Adam (all Pune), Akanksha Kandalkar, Shrutilakshmi V.K., Sejal Nakhava, Vaishnavi Eache, Afreen Peerbhoy, Mamta Acharya, Jyoti Mehra (all Thane), Pooja Kapate (Yavatmal).
