Plucky Freunds F.C make P.D. Hinduja Hospital pay

Freunds S.C defeated P.D.Hinduja Hospital 2-1 in the 3rd division match of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on 15th May 2015.

P.D.Hinduja Hospital were dominant the first half of the game and had the maximum ball possession. On the other hand Freunds S.C found it very tough to get a foothold in the game.

P.D.Hinduja Hospital’s Rohan L. missed an easy chance from a free kick as his effort was blocked by Freund’s Abhishek Bhattacharya in 2nd minute.

Minute later P.D.Hinduja Hospital’s Rohan L. put them in front after he made a great run at the heart of the Freunds FC defence to fire past the goalkeeper and put P.D. Hinduja in the lead.

P.D.Hinduja Hospital missed a very good chance in 13th minute when Lokesh Tandel and Sumit M combined well which saw the former fire a shot on the Freunds FC goal which was kept out by the goalkeeper.

Sumit M grabbed the loose rebounded ball and shot towards the goal but it hit the cross bar and went away from the goal. This chance could have doubled their scores.

Freunds S.C’s goalkeeper made another good save in 20th minute when P.D.Hinduja Hospital’s Rohan L smashed a shot towards the goal. but goalkeeper dived and made a save.

The first half ended with P.D.Hinduja Hospital leading by 1-0.

Inspired by their manager’s half time team talk Freunds FC came out a different team in the second half.
Freunds S.C equalized their score in 35th minute when Abhishek Kadam aptly played a move to confuse the defenders and from the penalty box before smashing it on target to get the game on level terms

Freunds S.C then grabbed the lead in 43rd minute when Abhishek Bhattacharya’s long range shot went straight in. The effort seemed to have taken the Hinduja goalkeeper by surprise as Freunds FC snatched the lead in the game.

With the full time whistle the game ended with Freunds S.C winning and P.D.Hinduja Hospital lost the game which they had fully controlled
Freund S.C whose presence was not felt in the first half made a good come back in the second half.
