PIFA Colaba thump Rhema SF

On the second day of RCF (Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers) Nadkarni Cup Football Tournament 2015-16 PIFA Colaba ran out 5-0 as winners against MDFA Super Division’s side Rhema SF at RCF Sports Club on Saturday noon.

Brace from both, Pragnesh Solanki and Mohammad Junaid and a late strike from Ashfak Khan sends them into the next round of the 109th Edition Nadkarni Cup Football Tournament.

Rhema SF gave the victors a neck to neck fight until the half an hour mark when Pragnesh Solanki tapped an easy low cross from Faraz Aahsan into the goal to give PIFA Colaba a much needed lead.

PIFA Colaba could have doubled the lead when Johnson D’Silva blasted his shot over the bar from Sushant Jadhav’s fantastic cross.

The link-up play between Faraz and Pragnesh was a joy to watch as the duo kept creating havoc for Rhema’s back four. PIFA Colaba began to control the game from the half an hour mark, Rhema SF were finding it pretty difficult to win back the ball possession.

On 36th minute, Faraz once again found Pragnesh unmarked, the former delivered a fantastic through ball which was finished comprehensively by Pragnesh Solanki which took PIFA Colaba’s lead to two goals.

Faraz, who was tremendous throughout the first-half set Mohammad Juniad on goal this time who managed to beat the goalkeeper but his loose shot was cleared off the line.

A minute later, Mohammad Junaid finally capitalized on a poor defense as his left footed shot proved to good for Rhema SF’s goalkeeper.

PIFA Colaba went into the break with a comfortable three goal lead.

In the second-half, Mohammad Juniad increased his tally to two goals on the 65th minute when he powerfully blasted his shot into the left bottom corner.

PIFA Colaba scored their final goal on the 85th minute when Ashfak Khan’s sublime finish increased their lead to five goals.

The victors PIFA Colaba will either face Kenkre FC or Millat FC in the next round.
