Naaz Utd and Kalakaar Indians emerge victorious in their last group match

In the last round of group stages matches in Colaba Super League (CSL) at Back Garden, Colaba, both Naaz Utd and Kalakaar Indians won their respective matches. Naaz Utd made a sensational comeback against Brainy World after being down 1-0, they scored five times later and confirmed their place in next round. In the second match, Kalakaar Indians won 2-0 against Hiraai Suns.

Into the first match, Brainy World took a early lead when Naaz Utd’s defender Walter Liu handled the ball inside the box, the referee had no choice other than giving penalty. Hemant Meher stepped up and sends the goalkeeper in wrong way to open the scoring.

Even without their couple of key players Brainy World dominated the first half with a series of shots on target but Naaz Utd’s goalkeeper Rahul Kotkar made some amazing saves to keep the score 1-0.

In second half, Naaz Utd made a remarkable comeback, they scored five goals inside 20 minutes to seal the match 5-1.

It was Akash Pawar who opened the scoring with his right foot strike which nestled past the goalkeeper. Moments later, Naaz Utd was awarded a penalty, Lakhan Lokhande stepped up and scored to give Naaz Utd 2-1 lead over Brainy World.

The goals kept coming from Naaz Utd, star player Karim Shaikh scored a sensational goal from outside the box when he placed his shot so accurately that even the goalkeeper stood and just watched it sailing in the top corner.

Another goal came from Karim Shaikh’s free kick, his cross found Lakhan Lokhande who headed it in but only the goal post keeping his effort out, the ball rolled towards Karan Dhanu who neatly finishes it to make the score 4-1.

The last goal came from Rashid Shaikh who scored from a low cross from Karim Shaikh to make the things out of any reach for Brainy World. The match, as you can see, ended 5-1 in favour of Naaz Utd.

Now moving to the next match, both compatriots, Valentine Pereira (Hiraai Suns) and Roger Sam (Kalakaar Indians) who play together at Karnataka Sports Association in MDFA Elite Division face each other in a group match.

Both the team had their chances in first half but none of them proved to be good enough to finish their chances, both set of defenders were composed at the back causing problems to forwards/strikers.

The goal came in second half when Kalakaar Indians were awarded a penalty, Dheeraj Mestry took the commands and comfortably scored to give Kalakaar a 1-0 lead.

Hiraai Suns started to pushed ahead, in order to equalize, Kalakaar somehow dispossesed them and on a counter star player Roger Sam scored with just minutes remaining to seal the match for Kalakaar Indians.

The referee blows the whistle and it was Kalakaar Indians who were victorious.
