MDFA selection trials for junior Maharashtra Girls team on Wednesday
Mumbai: The MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) will be conducting trials for junior girls at the MSSA (Mumbai Schools Sports Association) ground, Azad Maidan on September 16 at 4.30 pm. Girls born between January 1, 1998 and December 31, 2002 are eligible to attend the trials. The trials are being held to select candidates to attend the Maharashtra State selection trials, to pick the Maharashtra junior women team.
The 10 selected girls will then attend the Maharashtra State selection trials to be held at the Cooperage ground from September 18. The state junior women team will be taking part in the National Championship to be held in Goa during September/October 2015.
The Maharashtra Girls’ junior team will be looking to take a leaf out of the sub-junior team’s book who enjoyed a great tournament and reached the knock-out stages.
There will be plenty of girls from Mumbai who have the potential to make it to the state team after Mumbai’s girls team emerged victorious in the inter-district State Football Tournament.
MDFA will be looking for a good turnout for the selection trials and will be hoping to pick some good talent to bolster the state squad for the National Junior Championships
