Malvani SC see off gritty Falcons

Malvani SC notched up another win in the 2nd Division of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) when they saw off a determined Falcons outfit 2-0 at St. Xavier’s Ground in Parel on Monday, 5th October 2015.

Malvani S.C got off to a flying start when Avlon Dias fired them into an early lead in the 9th minute. It was a well taken goal from the Malvani S.C forward as his goal gave the men in fluorescent green.

But Falcaons showed great fight to curb the rampant Malvani side. Falcons grew into the game as the half drew to a close but Malvani held their lead into the break.

Malvani tried hard to double their lead in the second half, but Falcons matched them tor to toe. Malvani SC retreated back into their own half as full time whistle neared and drew Falcaons on to them. As Falcons tried hard to chase an equalizing goal, Malvani profited on the break as David D’Souza’s goal in the final minute of the game sealed the points for Malvani S.C.

It was a tough outing for Robert Chettiar’s men who were made to toil for the three points, but his side portrayed qualities of a champion team as they grinded out the win and kept their good work going in this season’s league.
