M.S.S.A. under-12 Boys Division 3 Day-2 Round-up

On Wednesday, 2nd December ’15, wins were registered under NSS Hill Spring International School, Rajhans Vidyalaya and St. Peter’s School’s names; while, HVB Academy and IES Manikin Vidya Mandir shared a 1-1 draw in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (M.S.S.A.) under-12 tournament at the M.S.S.A. Ground. The quality of football on display was better than that on the opening-day.

The third-division game between Rajhans Vidyalaya and Saifi High School ended in favour of Rajhans Vidalaya by 3 goals to 1.The most noticeable performer in the game was undoubtedly Rajhans Vidalaya’s no.14 Chinmai Murudkar, who single-handedly guided his side towards the victory-line solely with his decisiveness in front of goal; scoring 3 goals in a process, and wrapping-up maximum points for his team. Saifi High School did score through Hamza Nanderbarwala, but it only proved-out to a be a mere consolation in  the full-time scoreline.

The 3-nil demolition of Sir J J Fort Boys High School to the hands of St. Peter’s School in the third-division of M.S.S.A. boys under-12 was the pick-of-day! St. Peter’s School who were guided by their experienced head-coach Edward Abahjo not only dominated the scoreline, but also the gameplay through the match, giving the opposition no time to settle-in from the very first-minute; no.9 Ahmed Delhiwala opened the scoring in the very first minute, and after brief spell of attacking dominance, they doubled their lead through no.7 Hamza Chariyari on the 9th minute mark. A couple of minutes later, no.6 Ahmed Bamne gave his team an unassailable 3-0 lead, which they would keep intact until the full-time whistle.

HVB Academy drew 1-1 with IES Manik Vidyamandir in the other division 3 fixture, which was in all its fairness a righteous result considering both side’s performances. HVB Academy opened the scoring in the 13th minute mark through Aratham Mehta; no.10 Swayam Shetty levelled-up the scores in the 23rd minute. In the last-game on the day, NSS Hill Spring International School clinched a victory against Orion High School with a solitary goal scored by their captain no.4 Taksh Chandan.

The Day 2 of the M.S.S.A. under-12 Boys tournament concluded on a convincing note, but most coaches complained about the lack of cleanliness of the football pitches. The games, although were played with a great spirits and without any disrespect.
