Jawahar Young Boys and Saraswati SC both registers a hard fought victory

On 15th November, 2015 Jawahar Young Boys and Saraswati SC both registered a hard fought 3-2 & 3-0 victory against a determined Bombay Fort SC and Uchil United respectively in 20th Late Ramanath Payyade Memorial Football League Tournament 2015-16 at Karnataka Sports Association (KSA) Ground.

In the first of the two matches played on Sunday at Karnataka Sports Association Ground (KSA), Jawahar Young Boys managed to score three past Bombay Fort SC. Brace from Rakshit Pillai (22′ and 52′) and Avinash Narayan (15′) were enough to overcome their opponents who did score a late goal to make the match more interesting.

The victors took the lead early in the first half when Avinash Narayan was set through on goal, he managed to beat the goalkeeper to give Jawahar Young Boys a vital lead.

Seven minutes later, Rakshit Pillai made it 2-0. The attacker struck a curling shot which comprehensively beat the Bombay Fort goalkeeper.

In the second half, Bombay Fort pull one back through Sanket Poojary but Rakshit Pillai restored their two goals lead for Jawahar Young Boys to ease off the pressure.

With minutes left, substitue Judon D’Souza scored for Bombay Fort cut short the deficit but somehow Jawahar Young Boys held their nerves to win a vital match.

In the second and last match of the day, a fantastic second-half display from Saraswati SC saw them thumping Uchil United 3-0, goals from Prashant Pise (41′), Dinesh Pawar (59′) and Akshay Pawar (60′) sealed the game for the lads in red.

Saraswati SC started off brilliantly, Voller D’Silva powerful shot early in the match almost found the net.

Moments later, teammate Dinesh Pawar curling left footed shot whispered past the goal post, it would have been the goal of the day had the ball went in.

Saraswati SC started the second-half in the same way as they started the first-half but this time the were being clinical in front of the goal.

On 41st minute, Prashant Pise scored to give Saraswati SC a deserving lead

Their lead was almost doubled by Vinod Vade when his shot struck the post on 57th minute. Two minutes later, Dinesh Pawar’s left foot drive finally managed to beat Uchil United’s goalkeeper to increase their lead by two goals.

In the last minute, Akshay Pawar sublimely placed his shot into the right bottom corner to seal the match for Saraswati SC.
