Gritty Millat FC holds Young Boys 0-0 in Super Divsion
On 29 November, 2015 Millat FC and Young Boys had to share points each in their Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) Super Division clash as both the outfit failed to find the back of the net at St. Xaviers Ground, Parel.
Prior to the match there was a one minute silence at the venue following the sad demise of Millat FC’s junior player Sharjil Shaikh who lost his life in the tragic blast in Kurla last month.
Millat FC dominated the first-half but their forwards were not clinical in front of the goal which led to a dull goalless draw against Young Boys.
Millat FC’s Karan Khanna came close to find the winner, but his powerful strike rattled the post. On the other end, Young Boys’s star player Ubaid kept dictating YB’s play but a gritty defense of Millat proved too strong for Young Boys.
Danish Qureshi, Asif Khan and Bilal Khan were booked for Millat FC. Their aggressive play dominated Young Boys, although Millat FC failed to capitalize in front of the goal.
Millat FC’s goalkeeper Anas Ishke stood like a wall, who made some terrific saves for Millat. Ubaid, Zaid, Faizan all were on the mark but failed to beat the inform goalkeeper.
Both the teams held each other until the final whistle to draw the match 0-0.
