Elvis Rodrigues’s twin strikes confirms Xavier’s Boys’ place in Finals
Tarun Sporting Lost out to Xavier’s Boys 2-0 in the 3rd Division showdown at Xavier’s ground Parel. Elvis Rodrigues scored Twice for Xavier’s Boys in the 22nd and 51st minute Respectively and Finals await for Xavier’s Boys to work their magic again.
Elvis Rodrigues missed the chance to score in the 11th minute after he misjudged the corner kick which went over the crossbar. He made up for his missed opportunity 10 minutes later with a perfect finish.
Xavier’s Boys turned defensive after the 1 goal lead and Tarun Sporting Strikers had to make extra efforts for ball possesion. Matters didn’t improve for Tarun Sporting even in the second half Nayeem Hasan, Mustafa and Ziya Shaikh tried but all in vain.
Tarun Sporting missed a golden chance to equalize in the 50th minute after Ziya Shiakh passed to Ajinkya Umasar rather then attempting a shot at goal himself.
A minute left for the second half to end and Elvis Dribbled and aimed at goal and doubled the score for Xavier’s Boys and with that Dream run for Tarun Sporting came to an end. Xavier’s Boys will now face Malvani S.A. in the Finals on a Sunday evening.
