DSK Shivajians see off Kenkre FC

DSK Shivajians U-15 registered a 2-0 win over Kenkre FC U-15 in their U-15 HERO I-League clash at DSK Dream City Ground on 14th November, 2015.

Despite dominating the whole match, Kenkre FC failed to capitalize their chances into goals when it mattered the most. Whereas, DSK Shivajians were clinical in front of the goal as two goals in the first-half itself put them in drivers seat.

Kenkre FC started to control the game right from the Referee’s whistle as they kept majority of the ball possession, they soon saw their first attempt on goal when their Skipper Marc Mendona left footed shot curled its way just over the bar.

Although it was DSK Shivajians who had the first laugh when Arjun Ranade opened the scoring for the host on 15th minute, he headed his effort perfectly into the net from a free kick which initially rattled the bar and fell into Arjun’s path.

Minute later, Kenkre FC had the chance to equalize when they were awarded a free kick from just outside the box. Lakshya Ranwan showed good reflexes as he comprehensively saved Nathan de Rozario’s free kick.

On 26th minute, Kenkre FC had their best opportunity of the first-half. Jay Bhavnani’s fantastic cross was almost headed in by Tarun Tiwary, who was left unmarked in the box.

Two.minutes later, Jay almost scored as his shot was cleared off the line by Manas Nimhan.

The chances kept pouring in for Kenkre FC, they would have scored more than three goals in first-half but poor finishing proved too costly for the visitors.

Adding salt to their wounds, DSK Shivajians made it worse for the visitors on the stroke of half-time when Yuraj Sawant slotted home from Denzil Kharshamdi’s low cross, making it 2-0 for the host.

The second-half saw Kenkre FC missing more chances than in the first-half as their poor finishing kept haunting them.

On 71st minute, Kenkre’s Aryan Yugpurush was set on goal, although his initial shot was saved brilliantly by Lakshya Ranwan, his teammate Siddhu Pawar somehow failed to convert from four yards as he saw his shot going over the bar.

Things got worse for Kenkre FC, Priyang Preman landed awkardly on his right hand  which saw his shoulder getting dislocated. Unfortunately he will be sidelined for few months.

DSK Shivajians managed to hold on in the dying minutes to register a 2-0 victory over Kenkre FC.
