Day 6 Rustomjee Go Green Cup: The football carnival comes to a cheerful end

After unexpected rains lashed the city on Saturday, the final day of Rustomjee’s Go Green Cup hosted by Kenkre was postponed to Tuesday here at the Don Bosco Grounds, Matunga. It was heartwarming to see that despite the rescheduling, the enthusiasm of the participants had not been reduced even by an inch as they looked to leave their mark on this day of reckoning.

The proceedings started with the Parasites taking the challenge to K- Blues. The first goal came on a penalty kick that was awarded to Parasites after a strong tackle just outside the box. Advait Shinde took it and placed it in perfectly into the right bottom corner to go into the lead before half time. In the second half, the equalizer came early from K- Blues as Marc scored taking advantage of a defensive lapse. With the score line level at 1-1, penalties were to decide the result. The thriller, came to an end with the K- Blues keeper missing the goal on the 7th kick to allow Parasites the win.
