Colaba FC and Poinsur Gymkhana register easy wins in MDFA 3rd Division

On 23rd November, 2015 Colaba FC and Poinsur Gymkhana comfortably defeated Millat FC ‘B’ and Mukund FC 7-1 and 3-0, respectively. Especially Colaba FC who ran riot over Millat FC ‘B’ with a dominating display at MSSA Ground in the 3rd Division of Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA).

Colaba were nothing short of perfection right from the beginning when Keval Pagdhare found the net on the 10th minute as Millat FC ‘B’ failed to clear from a corner. Few minutes later, Aditya Chowgale made it 2-0 with a fine strike from inside the box to further increase the damage.

It could have been 3-0 moments later, Vandan Meher launched a shot from distance which was brilliantly saved by Nafees Hassan. Although it didn’t took Colaba FC much time to score their third goal.

Bhagavan Patil scored through a stunning free kick from twenty five yards just before the half-time to take Colaba FC’s lead to three goals.

In the second-half, Colaba FC started from where they left. Chitresh Tandel (33′) and Rohan Pagdhare (34′) scored two quick goals to put the match beyond Millat FC ‘B’ reach as the scoreline increased to 5-0.

On 43rd minute, Keval Pagdhare doubled his tally as he perfectly placed his right footed shot into the empty net, making it 6-0 in favor of Colaba FC.

Millat FC ‘B’ finally opened the account, Shanawaz Shaleji scored a screamer to pull one back but into the dying minutes Colaba’s Sandesh Tandel made it 7-1 to complete the riot.

In the other match, Poinsur Gymkhana registered a comfortable 3-0 win against Mukund FC.

Prathamesh Dapkekar converted from the spot to open the scoring for Poinsur Gymkhana on the 9th minute. Their lead increased to two goals when Nalin Singh’s initial shot was deflected in through Mukund FC’s Suresh Menon into the net.

The final goal was scored on the 36th minute when Rohan Salian used his pace and skills to cut one defender and managed to lash his effort into the right bottom corner, which made it 3-0 in favor of Poinsur Gymkhana.
